Peer Support Specialist- ACTT in Hickory, North Carolina at Catawba Valley Healthcare

CVH is seeking 1 certified peer support specialist who has at least 12 months of demonstrated recovery. One full time position is available on the Hickory NC Assertive Community Treatment Team. MUST HAVE PEER SUPPORT CERTIFICATION

The Peer Support Specialist is a full time employee who provides a variety of center-based and/or community based individual and group services to individuals receiving or seeking mental health services and/or who identify themselves in recovery. The Peer Support Specialist provides a continuum of activities that promote recovery, self-determination, self-advocacy, and enhancement of community living skills. The Peer Specialist links clients to community services. The Peer Support Specialist describes, encourages, models and mentors recovery values, attitudes, beliefs and personal actions so that consumers learn to manage their own recovery and live in ways that encourage wellness and resilience. The Specialist gathers program data, must use computer technology, and engage in training and activities that support their own recovery. Peer Specialists work as part of a clinical team and will be clinically supervised.

Must have high school diploma or GED, peer support certificate, have a vehicle and and NC driver’s license, and have computer skills experience.
