Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant supports WRMC’s hospital operations by providing comprehensive front-end administrative, patient access, financial, and customer service functions. This position is responsible for various administrative functions, revenue functions and front desk customer service. The role is essential to patient satisfaction, operational efficiency, and hospital reimbursement.
Essential Functions
Administrative & Hospital Operations
- Provide administrative and clerical support in accordance with WRMC policies and procedures
- Managed front desk greet visitors/patients in main lobby.
- Managed any correspondence for Senior Leadership.
- Maintain front lobby sign in log
- Register OP patients
- Adhere to HIPAA, WRMC confidentiality, and information security standards
- Support census management, documentation accuracy, and departmental reporting
- Assist with audits, special projects, and operational initiatives as assigned

- Attends staff meetings; follows HIPAA guidelines; follows patient rights policy; complies with the compliance program; demonstrates knowledge of role in a disaster; demonstrates knowledge of fire and fire drill procedures; working knowledge of hospital emergency codes; always utilizes standard precautions in the clinical setting; safely manages the environment of care by demonstrating a working knowledge of the requirements of the: Life Safety program, Utilities Management program, Hazardous Materials program, Emergency Preparedness program, Safety Management program, Medical Equipment Management program, Security Management program.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in hospital patient access, admissions, billing, or revenue cycle functions
• Working knowledge of hospital insurance verification, authorizations, and patient financial processes
• Experience with hospital EHR/ADT and billing systems
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial hospital payers
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate’s degree or higher
• Experience in an healthcare environment
• Knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation and EMTALA
• Experience with charity care and Medicaid eligibility screening
