Position Purpose

The Admissions Officer, Degree Programs assists in a broad range of business, operational, and

administrative support for the graduate programs at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York and Online.

The position is responsible for assisting in all phases of the lifecycle of an applicant, from inquiry to

enrollment, and will bring a progressive and proactive approach to the prospect journey with the goal of

providing the best possible experience for students. This position reports to the Associate Director of

Admissions, Degree Programs. Additional support may be provided to other Edconic schools — The

School of The New York Times, Vogue College of Fashion, Manchester City Sports Business School, and

WIRED Education — as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for prospective students through a variety of methods,

including virtual appointments, phone calls, emails, social media, information sessions, graduate

fairs, and other events

• Process and conduct first review of applications, with primary focus on New York and Online

degree applicants

• Support the planning, organizing, and delivery of all on- and off-campus recruitment events such

as open days, virtual information sessions, taster days, and represent the Institute at student

recruitment events in the U.S.

• Provide regular analysis and reports to the Associate Director and Global Head of Admissions

• Maintain accurate and current prospect and applicant records in Admissions databases and CRM

• Assist in the scholarship process for New York and online applicants, including the evaluation of

scholarship applications, allocation of funds, and distribution of awards

• Cultivate strong working relationships with Institute faculty, staff, guidance counselors, and key

stakeholders

• Serve as a liaison for the student with offices across campus including student services, financial

services, the MA programs team, and the registrar

• Bachelor’s degree required; 2-3 years of previous work on a college campus (student-held

positions accepted) required, Admissions experience a plus

• Exceptional written, oral, and organizational skills

• Ability to collaborate and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, staff, students,

and external contacts

• Ability to relate effectively with people from widely diverse backgrounds; commitment to

embracing diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging

• Experience with automated database systems, including a CRM (Salesforce, preferable) and

Student Information System is a plus

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive student information with discretion

• Be willing to travel in the tri-state area to participate in recruitment efforts as required

• Regular weekday (Monday-Friday) hybrid attendance/availability is required during core

business hours

• Ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary
