Job Description
Forum Communications Printing is expanding, and we're looking for a motivated sales professional to grow our commercial print, direct mail, and marketing solutions business throughout the Upper Midwest. This is a home-based territory sales role covering North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, offering the flexibility to work remotely while building meaningful client relationships across a defined geographic region.
While digital channels continue to evolve, direct mail and print remain some of the most effective tools for customer engagement, brand awareness, fundraising, and lead generation. Organizations across healthcare, financial services, higher education, retail, manufacturing, nonprofit, and government sectors continue to invest in strategic print and mailing programs that deliver measurable results.
As part of a fifth-generation, family-owned media and communications company, you'll represent a comprehensive portfolio of solutions backed by experienced production, customer service, and operational teams. You'll have the autonomy to manage your territory, while benefiting from the resources and reputation of an established organization.
Job Summary
The Account Executive is responsible for driving print revenue growth across the Midwest region by prospecting new clients, building a strong sales pipeline, and developing long-term client relationships. This role manages the entire client sales lifecycle, from presentation of customized print solutions, negotiation and closing of contracts, and ensuring successful project execution. The Account Executive also stays informed on market trends, tracks sales performance against goal targets, and represents the organization within their territory to strengthen brand presence and generate business opportunities.
Essential Functions
- Aggressively prospect, qualify, and close new commercial printing accounts within the assigned Midwest territory via cold calls, outreach emails, and networking opportunities.
- Research and identify potential clients to build and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
- Cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on their printing needs and using available needs analysis tools to better understand their businesses and marketing objectives.
- Effectively present Forum Communications Printing's full range of printing capabilities, creating customized proposals and solutions based on client audience demographics, market reach, and client business objectives.
- Meet and exceed established sales quotas and revenue targets on a monthly and quarterly basis, up- and cross-selling additional services/solutions if applicable, such as digital, print, or streaming advertising.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market activities, and competitors to identify new opportunities.
- Manage the entire client sales lifecycle, from initial contact through proposal generation, negotiation, and contract signing.
- Work closely with the internal production, design, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction.
- Maintain prompt and reliable attendance.

Qualifications
Required:
- Successful outside or B2B sales experience.
- Proven ability to prospect and close a significant amount of new business.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote working environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Must reside within FCC’s upper Midwest footprint of ND, SD, MN, or WI, and be willing to travel up to 25-50% within the assigned territory for client meetings, industry events, training, visits to other FCP locations, etc.
- Working proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Google Workspace.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.
- Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Possess an established network of business contacts (marketing managers, procurement professionals, creative agencies) in the Midwest.
- Experience selling commercial printing, marketing services, or related products.
- Experience selling specialized services such as variable data printing, cross-media campaigns, or web-to-print solutions.
- Deep understanding of printing processes (offset, digital, large format) and materials.
Expected earnings for this position range from $70,000 - $100,000+/year, through a combination of base salary and uncapped commission, depending on experience and performance. Top performers have the opportunity to significantly exceed the stated range through new business development and territory growth.
