Job Title: Medical Assistant - Senior
Reports to: MA Coordinator
Supervisory Responsibilities: Medical site MAs
Job Summary:

The Senior Medical Assistant (MA) is a member of a cross-disciplinary care team that includes health care providers, nurses, behavioral health providers, and other support staff. They support the mission and values of Maple City Health Care Center (MCHCC) by providing patient care and supporting the work of the medical team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates the work of the MA team at their site to ensure consistent, safe and high-quality care is provided in collaboration with MA Coordinator
- Provides lab operations support to the MA Coordinator, including but not limited to procurement, equipment maintenance, quality controls and compliance
- Ensures clinical decisions are approved by direct supervisor, Northside Assistant Director and Director of Medical Services before implementation
- Coordinates with MA Coordinator in the hiring, departure, and onboarding of MA staff
- Utilizes EMR in patient care
- Utilizes multiple resources for staff communication, providing timely follow up
- Provides Datalogger maintenance support to the MA Coordinator and other organizational leaders
- Provides risk incident report support to the MA Coordinator, site ADs and/or other organizational leaders
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills
- Provides all duties and responsibilities of the Medical Assistant
- Other duties that support our shared work, as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to run/write routine reports and documentation
- Ability to speak effectively to the public in person or on the telephone
- Fluently bilingual: English/Spanish; oral and written preferred
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One-year medical assistant certificate from college or technical school preferred
- At least two years' experience as a medical assistant
- Familiarity with primary care medications
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Ability to perform prolonged or extensive standing and walking
- Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
- Ability to perform prolonged periods of time in front of a computer
