This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud Engineer (AWS) based in the United States.

In this role, you will contribute to the modernization of a federal enterprise data platform by designing, implementing, and supporting scalable cloud-native infrastructure on AWS. You will work at the intersection of cloud engineering, DevSecOps, and platform operations, enabling secure, automated, and highly available environments for mission-critical systems. This position involves building Infrastructure as Code, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and improving system reliability through automation and proactive monitoring. You will collaborate closely with architects, data engineers, and cybersecurity teams to deliver compliant and high-performing cloud solutions. The role is well-suited for a hands-on engineer who thrives in complex, regulated environments and is passionate about cloud automation and continuous improvement. Your work will directly support the stability, security, and evolution of large-scale federal cloud infrastructure.

Accountabilities
  • Design, implement, and support scalable AWS cloud infrastructure and platform services in alignment with enterprise and federal requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform to enable consistent, repeatable, and automated deployments.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and other DevSecOps tools to streamline application delivery.
  • Manage and support AWS services including EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC to ensure secure and efficient cloud operations.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, system monitoring, operational workflows, and maintenance processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Support platform operations including troubleshooting, incident response, performance optimization, and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, data engineers, and cybersecurity professionals to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
  • Monitor system health, availability, and performance metrics across cloud environments to ensure operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and deployment standards to support consistency and compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, systems engineering, or platform operations roles.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with AWS cloud environments.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and working within DevSecOps environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS services such as EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills in complex cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
  • Experience working in federal government or highly regulated environments is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerized environments, and EKS administration is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Databricks platforms, data engineering workflows, and cloud security frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST is a plus.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Associate, Developer Associate, or SysOps Administrator are preferred.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary aligned with experience and market standards.
  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact federal cloud modernization initiatives.
  • Exposure to advanced AWS services, DevSecOps practices, and large-scale cloud architectures.
  • Professional development support, including certification preparation and training opportunities.
  • Collaborative and technically driven environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Work on secure, regulated systems aligned with federal compliance standards.
  • Career growth opportunities in cloud engineering and platform architecture.
