About the role

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for business growth in current and emerging markets. This will include DOE, DOD, radiopharmaceuticals, Nuclear Power (NP), nuclear waste management, local heavy industry, engineering firms, and municipal clients. What you'll do

  • Developing and executing business development strategies, account plans, and sales forecasts
  • Identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new sales opportunities within prime contractors, subcontractors, and designated market sector clients
  • Managing and expanding existing client accounts through proactive relationship management and solution-oriented selling
  • Representing GEL at related conferences, workshops, and industry meetings
  • Supporting and growing an assigned portfolio of client accounts with increasing responsibility for revenue generation and business development activities
  • Serving as a subject matter liaison between clients and GEL project management, laboratory operations, and technical staff
  • Leading proposal preparation, RFP responses, and pricing strategy in coordination with our Proposal and Contracts Group
  • Tracking federal contract vehicles, procurement forecasts, and budget priorities to align GEL services with market opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental services, laboratory operations, project management, business development, client relations, manufacturing operations, or related technical industries
  • Experience supporting client relationships, project execution, business development activities, account management, or operational leadership responsibilities
  • Knowledge of environmental testing, radiochemistry, nuclear operations, manufacturing, industrial services, or other technical service industries
  • Familiarity with federal, state, or commercial procurement processes and client requirements is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, technical personnel, and management teams
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships and identify opportunities for business growth
  • Experience preparing proposals, reviewing client requirements, responding to requests for information, or supporting business development efforts is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Working knowledge of environmental testing services, laboratory operations, radiochemistry, chemistry, manufacturing, or related technical service industries
  • Understanding of client relationship management, business development principles, and procurement processes within government, industrial, or commercial markets
  • Ability to review client requirements, statements of work, requests for proposals, and technical specifications
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to effectively coordinate with clients, project managers, and technical personnel

Working Environment & Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office, conference, and client-site setting with occasional laboratory exposure. Travel to client sites, contractor facilities, and industry events is required.
