Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Reservoir Engineer in India.
This role is focused on optimizing reservoir performance and supporting the development and execution of field production strategies within a complex upstream environment. You will contribute to integrated subsurface teams working on production optimization, depletion planning, and field development initiatives to enhance recovery and asset value. The position requires strong application of classical reservoir engineering principles to analyze wells, interpret reservoir behavior, and support decision-making for operational activities. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including subsurface specialists and production engineers, to define and execute both short- and long-term field plans. The role also plays a key part in supporting rig and rigless activity planning, ensuring technically sound recommendations for interventions and optimization. This is a highly collaborative and technically challenging environment where engineering judgment directly influences production efficiency and reservoir performance.
- Support the planning and execution of rig and rigless activities, including well interventions such as perforation optimization, stimulation, water shut-off, and other production enhancement operations.
- Perform classical reservoir engineering analysis, integrating static and dynamic data to understand reservoir behavior and performance trends.
- Apply core reservoir engineering techniques such as pressure transient analysis, decline curve analysis, and material balance to optimize production and recovery strategies.
- Contribute to depletion planning, reservoir management strategies, and annual production forecasting activities.
- Provide technical input for identifying and evaluating value-adding opportunities within field development and production optimization portfolios.
- Collaborate with subsurface and production teams to ensure alignment on reservoir performance interpretation and operational decisions.
- Promote strong HSE awareness by identifying potential operational risks and ensuring safe engineering practices in all activities.
- Support continuous improvement in reservoir management practices through data-driven insights and technical recommendations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related applied science/engineering discipline.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in reservoir engineering roles, with strong exposure to classical reservoir engineering workflows.
- Solid understanding of reservoir fundamentals including rock and fluid properties, depletion mechanisms, and flow behavior.
- Experience with reservoir engineering tools such as PETEX IPM, Kappa (Saphir), or similar software.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in pressure transient analysis, decline curve analysis, and reservoir performance evaluation.
- Experience in reservoir management, production optimization, and reserves estimation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing operational needs.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to share technical insights across teams.
- Knowledge of waterflood or gas reservoir management is an advantage.
- Familiarity with reservoir simulation and subsurface uncertainty management is a plus.
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience and technical expertise.
- Opportunity to work on large-scale upstream assets and complex reservoir systems.
- Exposure to integrated subsurface teams and global technical specialists.
- Strong focus on professional development, learning, and technical capability building.
- Collaborative and inclusive work environment focused on safety and operational excellence.
- Career growth opportunities within a global energy organization.
- Relocation support within the country where applicable.
- Benefits supporting work-life balance, including flexible working arrangements where feasible.
