Director, Customer & Consumer Insights

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director, Customer & Consumer Insights in the United States.

This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping how consumer understanding drives strategic decision-making across brand, growth, product, and customer experience. You will lead the insights function, turning complex qualitative and quantitative data into clear, actionable recommendations that influence global business priorities. The role spans brand tracking, growth strategy, UX/UI research, and new product development insights, ensuring a unified and consumer-centric approach across all touchpoints.
You will partner closely with Marketing, Product, and Growth teams to embed consumer intelligence into everyday decision-making and long-term strategy.
In this highly cross-functional position, you will define the vision, frameworks, and operating model for a scalable global insights capability.
You will also serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, translating behavioral trends and market dynamics into business opportunities.
This role is ideal for a data-driven, strategically minded leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth, consumer-focused environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the global Consumer Insights function, defining its vision, roadmap, and operating model to support brand, growth, product, and experience strategy.
  • Develop and implement best-in-class research frameworks, methodologies, and tools to elevate insight quality, rigor, and business impact.
  • Oversee brand and growth insights, including brand tracking, campaign effectiveness, audience understanding, and marketing optimization initiatives.
  • Direct UX/UI and customer experience research to inform product design, usability improvements, and end-to-end digital journey optimization.
  • Provide strategic oversight for New Product Development research, ensuring alignment with broader brand and consumer strategies.
  • Identify emerging consumer, cultural, and market trends to inform innovation, positioning, and long-term business planning.
  • Partner with senior leadership to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that influence strategic decisions.
  • Build scalable research operations, vendor strategies, and processes that enable efficient global insights delivery.
  • Lead and mentor insights team members, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and data-driven culture.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in consumer insights, customer insights, market research, UX research, or related strategy roles.
  • Proven experience building or scaling insights functions that influence brand, marketing, product, and growth decisions.
  • Strong expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience working in DTC, wellness, consumer products, subscription, or high-growth environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect consumer behavior to commercial outcomes and strategic priorities.
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional research initiatives across multiple markets or global audiences.
  • Excellent executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience mentoring teams and driving operational excellence.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving organizational environments.
