At HCS, our Friendly Meals program is more than just lunch - it’s a daily connection point for older adults in our community. As a Meal Site Coordinator, you’ll oversee the daily operations of your site, lead a team of dedicated volunteers, and help create a welcoming environment where participants feel seen and supported. If you care about food service, community, and making a difference one meal at a time, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all food service operations in compliance with the New Hampshire Sanitary Code and applicable regulations
  • Supervise and orient volunteers to ensure adequate coverage and smooth site operations
  • Take meal reservations and donations from participants accurately and with full confidentiality
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate social, recreational, and developmental activities at the meal site
  • Maintain cleanliness and routine servicing of essential kitchen equipment
  • Order necessary supplies and keep accurate records and operational reports
  • Step in to deliver meals as needed to maintain consistent service
  • Fulfill payroll, time, and service reporting requirements in compliance with funding source and agency guidelines
  • Actively contribute to our Continuous Quality Improvement program
  • Uphold and model HCS’s Standards of Conduct and Corporate Compliance commitments

Requirements:
  • High school diploma with coursework or experience in food service, human services, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in food service and/or social services — supervisory experience required
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Valid NH driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and required automobile liability insurance
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification required within 90 days of hire (paid by HCS)

Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services (HCS) is a non-profit organization providing comprehensive services in southwestern New Hampshire. Clinical services include visiting nurses, physical and occupational therapies, social work and home health aides. Hospice at HCS offers end of life care and grief support for patients and family members wherever they call home, including assisted living and nursing homes. HCS is unique in the wide range of community services that are offered to the community, including Healthy Starts family services, Meals on Wheels and senior dining, City Express and Friendly Bus transportation, and Nurse Is In foot care clinics. HCS is Medicare certified and licensed by the State of New Hampshire.
