Job Description
Hemut is transforming the American trucking industry through software and operational technology. Since founding in December 2024, we've graduated from YC X25, raised a multi-million-dollar seed round, and partnered with leading players in the space. The way work gets done is changing fast — come help build the systems that are changing it.
The Role
This is a full-stack product engineering role. Most of your time will go to shipping features across Hemut Command, building integrations, and hardening the backend infrastructure underneath. Some weeks you'll be in the frontend, other weeks deep in a backend or integration problem. You'll get a lot of autonomy and a real say in how the product evolves.
Our stack is Next.js and TypeScript on the frontend, Python and FastAPI on the backend, Postgres and Redis for data, and AWS, GCP, and Vercel for infrastructure. AI and voice work runs through Deepgram, Cartesia, and the usual LLM tooling.
What You'll Do- Ship full-stack product features across Hemut Command.
- Build and maintain integrations with the third-party systems our customers depend on.
- Work on the backend infrastructure that holds the product together.
- Contribute to AI-powered workflows where they make sense for the product.
- Own modules end to end, from spec to ship to QA.
- 1+ year of professional software engineering experience with shipped products to show for it.
- Strong full-stack ability. Fluent in a frontend framework (we use Next.js with TypeScript) and a backend language (we use Python with FastAPI).
- Solid grounding in Postgres or another relational database, and comfort with REST APIs and third-party SDKs.
- You use AI-assisted dev tools (Cursor, Claude, whatever works) as part of your normal workflow.
- Self-direction. You run with problems rather than waiting for them to be fully specified.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in logistics, freight, or B2B SaaS.
- Experience building third-party integrations or data pipelines.
- Experience with LLM workflows.
- Prior early-stage startup experience.
Competitive base salary, real ownership over what you build, direct collaboration with the founders, all Indian public holidays plus paid vacation and sick leave, and a well-equipped office in Pune.
