Position Summary

The Children’s House is a 3-Star Quality Rated child care facility associated with St. Joseph’s/Candler. The Children’s House offers programs ranging from infant care to Pre-Kindergarten. Our mission is to promote the healthy growth and development of children and to strengthen and support the families and community.

The Office Assistant provides support to the Director and Teachers helping the children learn to think independently, to problem solve and to use their words to communicate their feelings.

Core Job Functions
-
Prepare and serve nutritious breakfast, snacks, and other meals according to approved menus. CACFP guidelines, and age-appropriate portion standards. Ensure meals are served on time in a safe, sanitary manner.

Assist in completing all required CACFP paperwork, meal counts, production records, and monthly reports accurately and on time. Maintain organized documentation for audits and compliance reviews.

Inventory and maintain food, snack, and cleaning supplies while staying within budget. Make local purchases when necessary.

Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment, including appliances, food storage areas, and preparation surfaces. Follow all licensing, health and safety, and sanitation regulations.

Ensure all meals meet individual dietary restrictions and allergy requirements. Safely label, store, and prepare food to prevent cross-contamination.
- Collaborate with childcare staff to support daily operations, including assisting with meal transitions, maintaining child to staff ratios in classrooms, and other center needs as assigned.
