About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled TAR-Carpenter to join our team in the Mining, Quarrying, and Oil and Gas Extraction industry. As a TAR-Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. You will work closely with other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards. Your attention to detail and ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics will be essential to your success in this role. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from small repairs to large-scale construction projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics
- Experience with carpenter's hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the Mining, Quarrying, and Oil and Gas Extraction industry
- Experience with welding and metalworking
- Experience with concrete work and masonry
- Experience with heavy equipment operation
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
Responsibilities:
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, or hardware, using carpenter's hand and power tools
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
Skills:
As a TAR-Carpenter, you will use your skills in carpentry, blueprint reading, and project management on a daily basis. You will work with a variety of tools and materials to construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures. Your attention to detail and ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics will be essential to your success in this role. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, communicate effectively with other team members, and manage your time effectively to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
