Position Overview
The Aggregates Sales Representative I is an entry-level sales professional responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships while promoting Capitol Aggregates' products and services. This position partners closely with customers, operations, dispatch, quality control, and credit personnel to deliver exceptional customer service, identify sales opportunities, and support business growth. The Aggregates Sales Representative I develops industry knowledge, expands market presence, and contributes to the continued success of the Aggregates Division.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with new and existing customers.
- Promote and sell aggregate products to achieve or exceed established sales goals.
- Identify new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and market research.
- Prepare quotations, bids, and pricing proposals in accordance with company policies and pricing guidelines.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, deliveries, and service requests.
- Coordinate with operations, dispatch, quality control, customer service, and credit personnel to ensure timely product delivery and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular customer visits and jobsite inspections to strengthen relationships, evaluate customer needs, and identify additional sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, quotations, forecasts, and account information using the Company's customer relationship management (CRM) system.
- Monitor market conditions, customer activity, and competitor information to identify business opportunities and industry trends.
- Assist customers with product selection by providing product knowledge, technical information, and application recommendations.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues as appropriate to ensure timely resolution.
- Participate in industry associations, trade shows, community events, and customer engagement activities to promote Capitol Aggregates and expand business relationships.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Company products, pricing, specifications, applications, and operational capabilities.
- Follow all Company safety policies and procedures while visiting plants, quarries, construction sites, and customer locations.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in sales, customer service, account management, or the construction materials industry preferred.
- Experience in aggregates, construction, building materials, mining, or a related industry is preferred but not required.
- Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) software, such as Salesforce, is preferred.
Other Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets Company insurance requirements.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout an assigned sales territory.
- Ability to safely visit active quarry operations, plants, and construction sites while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet customer and business needs.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethical business conduct, and customer service.
- Commitment to following all Company safety policies and procedures.
