Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer in United States.
This role sits at the center of a fast-scaling, regulated environment where software delivery, bioinformatics pipelines, and cloud infrastructure must operate with high reliability, security, and traceability. You will design and maintain CI/CD systems, automate cloud deployments, and enable reproducible computing environments across GCP and AWS. Working closely with engineers, scientists, and operations teams, you will build the infrastructure backbone that supports both software products and complex diagnostic workflows. The position combines hands-on engineering with platform ownership, focusing on scalability, compliance, and developer productivity. You will also contribute to improving system observability, security controls, and deployment efficiency in a highly collaborative environment. This is a greenfield opportunity to shape modern DevOps practices in a mission-driven, regulated technical ecosystem.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions to automate testing, deployment, and release processes across environments.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform to ensure scalable, version-controlled, and auditable cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP.
- Automate deployment and configuration of applications, services, and bioinformatics workflows across containerized and cloud-native environments.
- Manage Docker and Kubernetes workloads, supporting container orchestration across platforms such as Google Cloud Run and AWS services.
- Develop automation scripts in Python and Shell/Bash to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Implement and maintain observability systems, including logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure system reliability and performance visibility.
- Enforce security best practices across CI/CD pipelines, including secrets management, access controls, and vulnerability scanning in a regulated environment.
- Collaborate with engineering and science teams to improve deployment processes, documentation, and infrastructure standards.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or software engineering with a strong focus on automation and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions, with familiarity in GitLab CI or Jenkins.
- Proven experience working with AWS and GCP in production environments.
- Deep expertise in infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
- Strong containerization and orchestration experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Python and Shell/Bash scripting for automation and system tooling.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, Git workflows, and branching strategies.
- Experience implementing security controls and compliance practices in cloud and CI/CD systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear technical documentation.
- Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, clinical diagnostics) is a strong plus.
- Exposure to observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar) and GitOps practices is a plus.
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience and market benchmarks.
- Remote-first work flexibility across the United States.
- Opportunity to work on mission-critical, high-scale cloud and data infrastructure.
- Exposure to advanced bioinformatics and regulated cloud environments.
- Strong focus on engineering ownership, autonomy, and technical impact.
- Comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, retirement plans, and paid leave (as applicable).
- Career growth in a highly technical, innovation-driven organization.
