Job Description
As the Assistant Salon Manager, you will assist the Salon Manager (SM) and Salon Operations Manager (SOM) in maximizing sales, providing a great experience for guests and team members, and managing the salon in accordance with Juut’s operational standards. You will assume responsibility for the operations of the salon as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the SM and SOM. You will lead the Guest Services team to provide outstanding guest experiences, resolve customer issues, and drive retail product sales.

Key Responsibilities
Daymaking

Guest Service
- Promote and monitor service quality through training, feedback, and acting as a positive role model
- Be available to guests to address their questions or concerns
- Ensure that guests are happy with their experience and service
- Create back-up plans to address guests’ needs in the event of the unexpected
- Empower staff to use their best judgment within Juut guidelines to provide exceptional customer experiences
- Provide feedback to the management team regarding service failures or customer concerns.
- Work estimated 4 desk shifts per week.
Guest Services Team Leadership
- Directly supervise Guest Services team
- Inspire employees to contribute as Daymakers
- Recognize outstanding performance and service
- Provide ongoing, in-the-moment feedback and guidance to team members
- Encourage individual and team development through training and educational opportunities
- Set clear standards consistent with Juut’s policies and processes, and hold your team and yourself accountable to those standards (including dress code)
- Keep accurate records of staff training, reviews, and coaching
- Direct quarterly Guest Service Specialist meetings
Staffing & Productivity
- Update front of house labor calculator & keep salon management updated on budget for front of house.
- Assist SM and SOM with maintaining salon budgets through appropriate staffing, inventory levels, and expenses
- Ensure that a manager or Team Lead is always present to serve guests and support staff
- Alternate opening and closing shifts with the SM and SOM; some days you will be available to greet staff as they arrive, other days you will be in the salon with the last guest
- Work at front desk at key times to demonstrate best practices
Facility
- Ensure the front-of-house meets Juut’s standards of excellence in cleanliness, product display, etc.
- Communicate repair and maintenance needs to SOM

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, secondary schooling preferred
- 2+ years managing a team in a salon, spa, or retail environment (college degree in business, management, hospitality, or related program may be considered in lieu of experience)
- Availability to work salon schedule – nights and weekends required
- Proficiency with common business software, including POS system
