Position Overview

As a Behavior Technician (BT) or ABA Therapist, you will provide one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children and adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental disabilities.


Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized ABA treatment programs under the supervision of a BCBA.
  • Collect and record client data using Motivity and other electronic data collection systems.
  • Teach communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills.
  • Assist with parent coaching and caregiver support.
  • Facilitate and support social skills groups.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, supervision, and monthly trainings.
  • Learn and implement proactive behavior support and de-escalation strategies.

Work Environment

Services are provided in our clinic, as well as in homes, schools, daycares, social skills groups, and community settings throughout the South Bay, Long Beach, Los Angeles areas, or Orange County.

Typical service hours are between 9:00 AM and 6:30 PM, with some home-based services extending until 7:30 PM.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; coursework or a degree in Psychology, Child Development, Special Education, Education, Behavioral Health, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in childcare, education, behavioral health, healthcare, therapy, or related settings.
  • Passion for helping children and individuals with autism and developmental disabilities learn, grow, and succeed.
  • Reliable, professional, and able to build positive relationships with clients, families, and team members.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check and all required pre-employment screenings.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including sitting on the floor, playing with children, running, lifting, bending, and implementing behavior intervention strategies when necessary.
