Qualifications:
Required:
- HS diploma or GED
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and muscle movement terminology
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- BLS Certification from AHA
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day Shift, 40 hours/week
- Full-time Schedule
Essential Functions:
- Participates with lifting and guarding of patients during therapy sessions
- Provides clear instructions and constant emotional and psychological support to patients at all times
- Assists with transporting patients as needed to and from their rooms on the Inpatient unit
- Assists in managing the gym area to ensure linen is readily available and prepared for the therapist
- Assures patients are adequately and appropriately dressed for therapy
- Prepares treatment booths, mats, wheelchairs, and assistive devices as needed, and cleans them thoroughly following treatment
- Maintains clinical supplies in their proper place and condition (e.g., ensuring solutions are sealed and labeled properly)
- Maintains compliance logs for equipment (including hydrocollator and paraffin) and performs required daily and weekly checks
- Assists the physical therapist as requested with overall patient mobility
