Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Machine Operator I will assist in the processing of material by preparing, loading, sampling, and unloading the processing machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare, load, sample, unload and process material to consistent high-quality standards as directed
- Perform basic metrology measurements and inspections, basic machine adjustments, and basic machine performance calculations.
- Strictly follow written procedures and maintain product and lot identification in accordance with company policies and good manufacturing practices
- Timely notify the supervisor when documentation or procedural errors are noticed and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate records for work performed, to comply with regulatory requirements
- Understand and utilize measurement instruments to verify work quality
- Contribute to and maintain a professional and respectful work environment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Machine Operator I has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent with additional relevant training desired; Associate’s degree in Industrial Engineering preferred
- 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow written procedures and directions
- HAZMAT training preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with employees and outside organization
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and create and/or interpret spreadsheets and graphs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
