Job Description

JOB TITLE: Application Engineer – SharePoint / Microsoft 365

Summary
The Application Engineer – SharePoint is responsible for designing, developing, administering, and supporting SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration solutions that enable efficient document management, workflow automation, and enterprise collaboration. The role partners closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and project teams to deliver scalable, secure, and user-centric SharePoint solutions aligned with organizational governance and digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities
SharePoint Development & Administration
  • Configure, administer, and maintain SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists, content types, and permissions
  • Develop and customize SharePoint solutions using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), React, and TypeScript
  • Build and maintain Power Platform solutions including Power Apps and Power Automate workflows
  • Customize SharePoint pages, web parts, forms, and workflows to support business requirements
  • Manage integrations between SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and other Microsoft 365 services
  • Support SharePoint site provisioning, maintenance, and optimization activities
Content Management & Governance
  • Implement and maintain SharePoint governance, security, retention, and compliance policies
  • Manage document lifecycle processes including metadata, version control, and information architecture
  • Ensure SharePoint environments align with enterprise branding, usability, and accessibility standards
  • Support enterprise content management (ECM) initiatives and collaboration best practices
  • Monitor and maintain content quality and user adoption across collaboration portals
Business Process Automation
  • Gather, analyze, and document business processes and workflow requirements
  • Design and implement automated workflows using Power Automate and Microsoft 365 capabilities
  • Improve operational efficiency through process redesign and workflow optimization
  • Support digital transformation initiatives through low-code/no-code automation solutions
Collaboration & Portal Enablement
  • Design and manage collaboration portals and team sites for enterprise and functional groups
  • Enable secure internal and external collaboration capabilities
  • Support integration of SharePoint with Teams, Outlook, and other enterprise systems
  • Deliver scalable collaboration solutions for global and cross-functional teams
Testing, Deployment & Support
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, and deployment activities
  • Assist in production deployment, hypercare, and post go-live support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint and Power Platform issues
  • Create technical documentation, process flows, governance documentation, and support materials
Stakeholder Management & Training
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather and refine requirements
  • Provide end-user training, communications, and knowledge transfer materials
  • Support organizational change management and user adoption initiatives
  • Coordinate with cross-functional and global teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions


Qualifications		Technical Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint Online (Modern Experience)
  • Experience developing solutions using:
    • SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
    • React and/or TypeScript
    • Power Apps
    • Power Automate
  • Knowledge of SharePoint governance, security, and compliance standards
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams integration and Microsoft 365 ecosystem
  • Understanding of Azure AD, permissions management, and document management systems
  • Experience with workflow automation and collaboration portal development
Functional Skills
  • Business process mapping and workflow design
  • Experience supporting enterprise digital transformation programs
  • Exposure to collaboration platforms and enterprise content management solutions
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SharePoint migration projects (On-Premises to SharePoint Online)
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks, retention labels, and security controls
  • Experience with Power BI, Azure Logic Apps, or Azure services
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale collaboration and governance initiatives
