JOB OVERVIEW

The Dealership Service Department Manager overseeing our service advisors plays a pivotal role in creating a positive customer experience, increasing service department efficiency, and achieving financial targets. This position requires excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills to ensure the service team consistently meets or exceeds customer expectations while contributing to the dealership's overall success.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Team Leadership: As a manager, you supervise and lead a team of service advisors. This includes hiring, training, setting performance expectations, conducting performance evaluations, and providing guidance to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Customer Service: Ensuring that service advisors deliver exceptional customer service by providing prompt and courteous assistance. They should effectively communicate service recommendations, address customer concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Service Coordination: Overseeing the scheduling and coordination of service appointments, ensuring efficient utilization of service bays and technician resources. Managing workflow to minimize customer wait times and maximize service department productivity.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintaining high-quality standards in all customer interactions and service recommendations. Ensuring service advisors provide accurate information to customers regarding vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Revenue Generation: Collaborating with service advisors to identify and recommend additional services or repairs based on vehicle condition and manufacturer recommendations. Maximizing revenue opportunities while delivering value to customers.
  • Documentation: Ensuring that service advisors maintain accurate records of customer information, service history, recommendations, parts used, labor hours, and service reports. This documentation is essential for billing, warranty claims, and compliance.
  • Customer Communication: Handling escalated customer concerns and complaints, providing solutions, and ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Training and Development: Providing ongoing training and development opportunities for service advisors to enhance their product knowledge, customer service skills, and understanding of dealership processes.
  • Reporting: Preparing and analyzing reports related to service department performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), customer feedback, and service metrics. Using this data to make informed decisions and improvements.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that the service department and service advisors adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry regulations. Implementing safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.


Qualifications:
  • Education: A bachelor's degree is preferred but not always required. Relevant automotive training and certifications are valuable.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in automotive service management, including managing service advisors within a dealership environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to motivate, guide, and mentor service advisors to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, colleagues, and team members.
  • Customer Focus: A top priority is dedication to delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic knowledge of automotive systems, repair procedures, and dealership operations is beneficial for effective communication with customers and service technicians.
  • Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address customer concerns and service-related issues effectively.

Additional Information:

  • Genesis or Hyundai Service Management a plus but not required.
  • CDK DMS experience preferred but not required.
  • No Sponsorship / Visa Transfer is available.

Compensation

  • $175,000 to $250,000 per year depending on experience.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Work Holidays and Weekends when required.
