Job Description

Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Based at: Mucci Pac Ltd., Kingsville, Ontario

Type of Employment: Full time, permanent, 5-6 days a week, and potentially extended hours depending on workload and priorities; which could include possible Sunday shifts (unless stipulated otherwise in offer of employment).

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Inspect, maintain, perform all major, minor, and routine repairs, and follow preventative maintenance on all equipment in and related to the main Mucci PAC facilities
  • Supervise all maintenance personnel along with outside contractors on repairs and any plant improvements
  • Coordinates work of outside contractors and ensures that the facility operates in a safe and efficient manner providing the best cost reduction solutions
  • Creating preventative maintenance schedules, and performing regular preventive maintenance on all equipment and machinery using CMMS (Eptura) software
  • Obtaining various quotes and approvals for PO’s for all vendors and purchases
  • Coordinate with contractors and outside vendors, keeping record of services performed, supporting invoicing verification and processing
  • Ensure safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications, and installations
  • Monitor, track and improve current equipment and availability
  • Responsible for Maintenance KPI Tracking and reporting in CMMS (Eptura)
  • Reading diagrams, blueprints, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance checklists, reports, and documentation
  • Facilitate applicable Health & Safety policies; maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area
  • Hires, trains, develops and mentors maintenance team in collaboration with operations leaders to ensure a productive, efficient and competent workforce to meet scheduled requirements safely
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical / engineering discipline or Red Seal certification in an applicable trade is strongly preferred
  • Greenhouse processing, Food, Agricultural or Manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Previous Supervisor or Leadership experience is required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
  • Ability to direct and influence those that are not direct reports
  • TPM experience, HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing experience would be an asset
  • Experience working with PLC, Hydraulics and Pneumatics would be an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledgeable of Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations
  • Ability to supervise a team of 4-7 maintenance personnel along with any outside contractors
  • Ability to communicate any machinery breakdown, material concerns or shortages to production supervisor or manager, warehouse manager and operations leaders as required

Physical Abilities:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
  • Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs
  • Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ˚C / 55 ˚F

Compensation: 73,000 – 80,000 annually, company benefits, onsite parking and other company perks
