Assembly Technician

Shift: Second Shift – Monday through Thursday, 4:30 p.m. - 3:00 a.m.

We are currently seeking an Assembly Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for assembling, inspecting, and packaging products while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Position Summary

The Assembly Technician produces quality products in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and customer requirements. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to continuous improvement while working collaboratively in a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Assemble and inspect products according to established SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards.Meet or exceed production requirements while minimizing scrap and rework.Move materials throughout the facility using approved methods and equipment.Perform visual and dimensional inspections using measuring devices, calipers, gauges, and other hand tools.Maintain accurate production, quality, downtime, and maintenance records.Identify operating irregularities, equipment malfunctions, and quality concerns; make minor corrections or notify appropriate personnel.Perform equipment setup and preventative maintenance activities as required.Complete required computer transactions and documentation within various software systems.Follow product labeling, identification, and material control procedures.Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities to improve productivity and quality.Maintain a clean, organized work area and support 5S initiatives.Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and Lockout/Tagout requirements.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
    Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
    Previous manufacturing, assembly, or production experience.Experience using measuring devices, calipers, gauges, and hand tools.Basic computer skills and experience with production reporting systems.Overhead crane operation experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    Strong communication and organizational skills.Basic measurement and gauging skills.Ability to read and follow SOPs and standard work instructions.Understanding of basic quality control principles and nonconforming material procedures.Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Time management skills with the ability to prioritize work assignments.Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
    Ability to stand and walk for 10 to 12 hours per shift.Frequent walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying materials.Ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 pounds.Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery and moving equipment.Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions while wearing required PPE.
