Job Description
The pay for this part-time position is $19.00 per hour, and there is the potential to grow into a full-time position. The schedule to start is Mondays and Thursdays 9am to 5pm.
Position Summary
The Handyman is responsible for performing general maintenance,
repairs, and upkeep of condominium common areas, facilities, and equipment.
This position helps ensure the property remains safe, clean, functional, and
visually appealing for residents, guests, and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair work on building systems, equipment, and common areas.
- Complete minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and flooring repairs.
- Inspect property grounds, amenities, and facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders while on shift.
- Repair and maintaindoors, locks, gates, fences, lighting fixtures, and other property components.
- Replace light bulbs, filters, batteries, and other consumable supplies.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance storage areas in an organized and safe manner.
- Monitor and report any major repair needs or contractor-related issues to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Assist during emergencies, severe weather events, and property-related incidents when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in building maintenance, handyman services, property maintenance, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Work Environment
- Residential condominium community.
- May require occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, or emergency response based on property needs.
