This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing operations team focused on insurance and collections processes within a structured and mission-driven environment. You will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, resolving complex payor and departmental issues, and driving continuous improvement across workflows. The position blends hands-on problem solving with team leadership, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to identify trends that impact performance and service quality. You will act as a key point of escalation for operational challenges while supporting staff development and fostering a collaborative team culture. - Lead and support daily operational activities within the collections and insurance processing team, ensuring timely resolution of backlog and workflow issues.
- Assist team members in resolving complex departmental and payor-related challenges, acting as a point of escalation when needed.
- Identify recurring trends, inefficiencies, and issues within department and payor processes, and propose actionable improvements.
- Manage and resolve invoices and cases requiring special attention, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
- Support managers and supervisors with operational projects, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Motivate and guide team members to achieve performance targets and maintain a strong focus on departmental goals.
- Monitor operational performance and contribute to continuous improvement of billing and collection workflows.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and quality standards in all operational activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, healthcare administration, or related fields is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in insurance, billing, or collections environments.
- Strong understanding of billing systems, CPT/ICD coding concepts, and third-party payor processes.
- Familiarity with CPT-4, ICD-9, ICD-9-CM coding standards is preferred.
- Experience working with operational systems and telecommunications or billing software tools is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and resolve operational issues effectively.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support team members in achieving operational goals.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to work in a structured office-based environment, primarily desk-based work.
- Competitive hourly salary ranging from $20.57 – $30.84/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
