About the Role:
The Cook I position in the retail trade industry is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items to meet the quality and safety standards of the establishment. This role ensures that all meals are prepared efficiently and consistently, maintaining the highest standards of taste and presentation. The Cook I will work closely with kitchen staff to manage inventory, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to health and safety regulations. This position plays a critical role in delivering a positive customer experience by providing delicious and timely meals. Ultimately, the Cook I contributes to the overall success of the food service operation by supporting a smooth and productive kitchen environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines accurately.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen or food service environment.
- Food Handler’s Certification or ServSafe certification.
- Familiarity with retail food service operations and customer service standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations throughout the shift.
- Ensure all food is stored, handled, and cooked in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, checking for quality and freshness.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient meal service during peak hours.
Skills:
The required skills such as basic cooking techniques and food safety knowledge are applied daily to prepare meals that meet quality and safety standards.
