This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Estimateur ou estimatrice, Imagerie habitation based in Canada.
This role plays a key part in the claims and loss adjustment process, focusing on evaluating property damage and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of estimates provided during insurance claims. You will analyze medium-complexity residential loss files, validate contractor and independent expert estimates, and ensure all assessments align with internal standards and procedures. The position also involves conducting investigations in cases where claims may be suspicious or require deeper analysis. You will contribute to improving customer experience by supporting consistent, fair, and well-documented claims decisions. In addition, you will participate in developing action plans and recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce claims risk. This is a detail-oriented and analytical role where judgment, structure, and collaboration are essential in managing complex insurance situations.
In this role, you will be responsible for assessing property damage, validating estimates, and contributing to the integrity of the claims process.
- Assess and define the extent of property damage in residential claims cases.
- Review, analyze, and validate estimates submitted by contractors and external experts to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
- Investigate claim circumstances, including complex or potentially suspicious cases, to gather relevant information supporting decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to established procedures, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines throughout the estimation process.
- Contribute to the development of action plans aimed at resolving claims issues and improving overall case outcomes.
- Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance service quality and reduce claims risk.
- Support the delivery of a consistent and high-quality customer experience through accurate and timely assessments.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with insurance or construction estimation expertise and a structured, detail-oriented approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in claims estimation, insurance, construction, or related fields.
- Intermediate proficiency in Xactimate or similar estimation software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex claim information and documentation.
- Ability to manage complex files and make informed, structured decisions under established guidelines.
- Strong communication skills in French (mandatory).
