Country Managing Director – U.S.

Location: New York, NY (with travel to China as required)
Reports To: Global Executive Team (China Headquarters)
Industry: Food & Beverage / Specialty Tea Retail

Position Summary
The Country Managing Director – U.S. serves as the senior leader responsible for the full performance and strategic direction of the brand within the United States. This role oversees all business functions including operations, market expansion, finance, supply chain, compliance, marketing, and brand development. The Country Managing Director ensures the successful U.S.
launch and long-term growth of the company while upholding global standards and maintaining close alignment with China headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Expansion:
Lead the overall U.S. market-entry strategy and guide multi-year expansion plans,
including site selection, store development, and market prioritization.
Establish annual business goals, KPIs, and financial targets in collaboration with global
executives.
Assess market trends and competitive insights to shape brand positioning, menu
localization, pricing strategy, and customer engagement.
- Operational Excellence:
Oversee daily and long-range operational performance across all U.S. locations, ensuring consistent quality, food safety, service standards, and brand integrity.
Develop operational frameworks tailored to U.S. regulations and customer expectations
while maintaining China HQ product quality guidelines.
Implement efficient processes for labor planning, scheduling, inventory control,
equipment maintenance, and product preparation.
- Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all business activities comply with federal, state, and local labor, health, food
safety, and retail regulations.
Partner with legal and HR teams to maintain accurate licensing, training, safety
procedures, and risk management programs.
- Leadership & Talent Management:
Build, coach, and lead a high-performing U.S. leadership team across operations, HR,
finance, marketing, and supply chain.
Oversee recruitment, workforce planning, and leadership development to support rapid
expansion.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
- Financial Management:
Manage the full P&L for U.S. operations, ensuring profitability and responsible financial
controls.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and spend management to support sustainable and
efficient growth.
Analyze financial and operational reports to drive performance improvement and cost
optimization.
- Brand Development & Public Representation:
Represent the organization as its senior leader in the United States, maintaining strong
relationships with industry partners, landlords, suppliers, and community stakeholders.
Guide U.S. marketing efforts and local brand strategies to drive visibility, customer
loyalty, and strong market entry.
- Cross-Border Collaboration:
Work closely with China headquarters on product development, supply chain planning,
corporate initiatives, and brand standards.
Maintain consistent communication and reporting practices to ensure alignment across
regions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
8–12+ years of senior leadership experience in restaurant, café, beverage, or retail
operations, with strong multi-unit oversight experience.
Proven success leading market expansion or managing high-growth retail or F&B brands.
Strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws, food safety standards, and operational compliance.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Mandarin proficiency is prefered; global communication and cultural adaptability are
essential.
