This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Business Development Representative (BDR), Retail Accounts based in United States.
This role is focused on opening doors with senior retail decision-makers and generating qualified pipeline for a high-growth AI-driven retail SaaS platform. You will be the first point of contact for prospects, responsible for creating meaningful conversations with buyers, merchants, planners, and executives across leading retail and consumer brands. The position blends strategic outbound prospecting with modern AI-powered workflows to research accounts, personalize outreach, and scale engagement. You will operate at the top of the funnel, translating a differentiated “real consumer voice” value proposition into messaging that resonates with retail leaders tired of speculative AI solutions. This is a high-visibility role closely aligned with sales leadership, where strong performance can directly lead to advancement into closing roles. The environment is fast-paced, data-driven, and heavily supported by AI tools to maximize productivity and impact.
- Own top-of-funnel pipeline generation through multi-touch outbound campaigns targeting retail and consumer brand executives
- Run multi-channel outreach (email, phone, SMS, LinkedIn) to engage and convert prospects into qualified meetings
- Build and execute ABM and personalized 1:1 outreach sequences tailored to retail account priorities and business drivers
- Use AI tools and sales platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator) to research accounts, build lists, and scale outreach efficiency
- Qualify leads and hand off well-structured, high-quality meetings to Account Executives
- Continuously refine messaging to align First Insight’s value with retail decision-making needs (pricing, assortment, demand planning)
- Represent the organization at events and networking opportunities to generate new pipeline opportunities
- Track performance metrics including meetings booked, response rates, and pipeline contribution
- 3+ years of B2B business development or sales development experience in SaaS, tech, AI, or data-driven environments
- Proven success running outbound email-led campaigns that consistently generate qualified meetings
- Hands-on experience with CRM and prospecting tools such as HubSpot, Apollo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft concise, high-impact outreach messages for senior executives
- Comfortable engaging prospects via multiple channels including cold calls and SMS outreach
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to automate research and personalize outreach at scale
- Ability to understand and communicate a differentiated product narrative to senior retail stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills, analytical mindset, and comfort working in metric-driven environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- $70,000–$80,000 base salary plus commission opportunities
