Senior Manager, O&O Ad Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, O&O Ad Operations based in Canada.

This role sits at the center of digital advertising execution across a large portfolio of owned and operated media properties. You will lead ad operations strategy and execution, ensuring that direct-sold campaigns are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with revenue objectives. Acting as both a people leader and operational expert, you will oversee campaign delivery, optimize inventory performance, and ensure the health of ad serving platforms across multiple brands. The position requires close collaboration with Sales, Product, Engineering, and external partners to resolve technical issues and improve monetization outcomes. You will also play a key role in developing scalable processes and automation to strengthen operational efficiency. This is a high-impact role where analytical thinking, leadership, and technical ad tech expertise directly influence revenue performance across a global media ecosystem.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead ad operations execution across owned and operated digital properties while driving performance, efficiency, and revenue optimization.

  • Lead, coach, and develop the O&O Ad Operations team to ensure high-quality campaign execution and alignment with revenue goals.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery, pacing, and optimization of direct-sold advertising campaigns across multiple digital properties.
  • Monitor ad inventory utilization and identify opportunities to improve yield and maximize revenue performance.
  • Manage the performance and health of ad tech platforms, including Google Ad Manager and related systems such as SSPs and header bidding setups.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, and external vendors to troubleshoot delivery issues and optimize campaign execution.
  • Develop and implement scalable workflows, automation, and QA processes to improve campaign setup, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Support strategic advertising partnerships and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that enhance monetization capabilities.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong publisher-side ad operations experience combined with leadership capabilities and a data-driven mindset.

  • 5+ years of experience in digital ad operations within a publisher, media, or digital content environment.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong expertise with Google Ad Manager (GAM) and related ad tech ecosystems, including SSPs and header bidding.
  • Experience managing direct-sold campaign delivery, inventory optimization, and yield management strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for reporting and performance analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business stakeholders.
  • Preferred: experience in sports, media, publishing, or digital content industries.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Agile methodologies and structured project delivery environments.
