Sales Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Engineer based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to become a key technical partner within a growing go-to-market organization focused on solving complex customer challenges. As a Sales Engineer, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions by guiding prospects through discovery, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements. You will collaborate closely with sales teams, customers, and internal stakeholders to design solutions that deliver measurable value. Working across security, observability, and IT operations use cases, you will help organizations unlock the power of their data. This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional who enjoys customer interaction, problem-solving, and influencing strategic technology decisions. You will have the autonomy to shape sales processes, enable teams, and contribute to product improvements in a fast-moving environment.

Accountabilities
  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the entire sales cycle, providing technical expertise from initial discovery conversations through deal closure.
  • Lead product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept engagements tailored to customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Analyze customer environments, identify technical challenges, and translate requirements into effective solution architectures.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to prospects and customers, building strong relationships with IT architects, security teams, DevOps professionals, and other technical stakeholders.
  • Develop responses to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires with clear and compelling technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to communicate customer feedback and help influence future product enhancements.
  • Create and maintain demo environments, technical documentation, enablement materials, and best practices to support sales effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs across cybersecurity, observability, and IT operations.
Requirements
  • 3–5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, or another customer-facing technical role.
  • Strong experience with security, observability, IT operations, or data analytics platforms such as Splunk or similar technologies.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity operations, including SIEM, SOAR, threat detection, or related security workflows.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical audiences and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience with scripting, automation, or data manipulation using technologies such as Python, SPL, or JSON.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments including AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with sales targets and business objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Security certifications such as Splunk Core Certified Power User, Enterprise Security certifications, or cybersecurity experience are a plus.
