Filmmaker
Location: Granite Bay Campus

Job Status: Full-time
The Filmmaker is a multidisciplinary visual storyteller who brings ideas to life through concept development, direction, cinematography, and editing. This role owns projects from initial concept to ?nal delivery, crafting cinematic stories that re?ect the heart of Bayside Church, inspire action, and connect with real people. Working closely with the Creative team and ministry partners, the Filmmaker produces a wide range of content, short-form and long-form video, podcasts, promos, and event recaps that uphold a cohesive visual style and a high standard of excellence across every Bayside platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead ?lm and video projects from concept to ?nal delivery, including pre-production planning, directing, cinematography, and post-production editing.
- Develop compelling concepts, story arcs, creative treatments, scripts, and storyboards that communicate vision and tone.
- Shoot and edit a wide range of content: short-form social, long-form features, podcasts, promos, and event recaps.
- Manage on-set logistics and technical execution—camera, lighting, audio, blocking, and talent direction.
- Tailor ?nal deliverables to their platform or context (weekend services, campaigns, social, and podcast)for maximum impact.
- Maintain a cohesive visual style and brand consistency across all Bayside platforms.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a team of creative volunteers who can assist with shoots and edits.
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Video Director.

Primary Strengths
- Strong understanding of DaVinci Resolve (cut, color, and audio work?ows); Adobe Premiere Pro pro?ciency a plus.
- Proven experience editing a wide range of content—short form and long form, podcast, promos, and event recaps.
- Deep understanding of the end-to-end ?lmmaking process, from pre-production through ?nal color and sound.
- Proven ability in visual storytelling, cinematic composition, story pacing, and emotional tone.
- Ability to direct talent (sta?, volunteers, or non-actors) with empathy and clarity.
- Basic motion graphics or After E?ects experience.
- Understanding of Sony, RED, and Blackmagic camera systems.
- Excellent ?le management and project organization skills.
- Willingness to receive feedback and improve iteratively.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in film or video production (directing, shooting, and editing).
- Pro?\ficiency with camera systems, lighting design, and production workflows.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and time-management skills.
- Ability to balance multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and solution-oriented under pressure.
- Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the church.
Portfolio Requirement
Applicants must submit a current portfolio website that includes an updated reel and links to past work. For each project, clearly note the role you played in the production (e.g., director, cinematographer, editor). We want to see a range across short form, long form, podcast, promos, and event recaps.
Time Commitment
- Full-time, up to 40 hours per week - must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
