Job Description
The Store Clerk at Richardson Resale Store plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and pleasant shopping experience for all customers. This position is responsible for managing daily store operations, including assisting customers, processing sales transactions, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the store. The clerk will also handle inventory management tasks such as receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise to ensure product availability and presentation. By providing friendly and efficient service, the Store Clerk helps foster a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business and supports the store’s reputation in the community. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to the store’s operational success and customer satisfaction.
Schedule: 25 hours per week Monday - Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm including every other Saturday from 8:30am-4:30pm
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and stocking merchandise.
- Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner, addressing inquiries and providing product information.
- Operate the cash register to process sales transactions accurately, including handling cash, credit, and returns.
- Receive, unpack, and organize incoming merchandise, ensuring items are properly labeled and displayed.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the sales floor, stockroom, and checkout area to create an inviting shopping environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and report discrepancies to management to support effective stock control.
- Support promotional activities by setting up displays and signage as directed by store management.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer service.
