POSITION SUMMARY
Manage and control the overall responsibilities of plant operations and the physical site ensuring the achievement of planning and executing production schedules, maintaining on-time shipping performance, maximizing labor utilization, reducing product cost, controlling quality costs, and managing inventory objectives, while assuring product quality is consistent with Kelvion objectives and standards for cost, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Safety
- Document and report any property damage, safety incidents (including near misses) or material damages immediately to your Supervisor / Management, including partnering with EHS co-workers to conduct investigations and communicating to direct report details of the incident and corrective actions.
- Follow, at all times, all Safety, Security, and Environmental policies of Kelvion Products, Inc.

Function
- The Material Planner holds the responsibility of material planning and supplier scheduling processes.
- Assure the availability of Materials and Services at the required dates according to the company needs.
- Manage the Material planning and ordering processes (MRP, reordering point, spot order, etc.) for each type of material or services, taking into account the key related business conditions such as customer orders, lead time, supplier lead time, availability and reliability of bill of materials, etc.
- Monitor the business’ development and maintain accordingly the key material planning parameters in the system such as min/max stock, reordering points, min order quantities.
- Execute periodically the defined planning processes and send to suppliers via the defined communication channel (email, EDI, others) the corresponding material or services requests or orders coming out of the above-mentioned predefined planning processes.
- Assure that supplier orders are inclusive of, or make clear reference to, all necessary documentation related to the conditions of purchase.
- Manage and execute the defined process of receiving supplier confirmation for the received orders.
- Manage and escalate, such cases in which those supplier order confirmations contradict, totally or partially, the requested purchasing conditions.
- Trigger all necessary actions with the Purchasing function when it is not fully defined, including the sourcing and the purchasing conditions of the material or services that are about to be requested. Escalate to the same function the cases that cannot be resolved by the Material Planners when suppliers raise concerns or reject totally or partially the received order.
- Provide regular visibility and reporting (internally and externally) of supplier on time delivery performance. according to the defined company measurement and reporting rules.
- Escalate proactively to the Purchasing function and other company key stakeholders, the critical cases of suppliers not meeting or being at risk of not meeting their contractual obligations (delivery date and quantity mainly).
- Closely liaise with Purchasing activities to strive for better contractual terms with our suppliers related to the optimal availability of materials and services to the company (lead times, minimum order quantity, Incoterms, batch sizes, packaging conditions, delivery frequency, etc.)
- Maintain a close interaction with other company related key stakeholders such as Sales, Production and Engineering in order to take into account their particular needs and provide them with relevant feedback about the development and execution of the assigned tasks.
- Implement and execute Procedures, Operative Instructions and Reporting Systems, so that the assigned functions can be correctly executed, results and information correctly consolidated, decisions adequately taken and intercompany communication facilitated.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert in the area of Material Planning and MRP, training other associates and being available to assist entire Supply Chain Department in issues related to Planning & Inventory.
- Work independently of direct supervision and be knowledgeable daily of the key metrics for the position and department.
- Know where all related sources of information are stored and know how to access the data and use it for multiple functions withing Material Planning.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
- Computer skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and ability to learn various functions assigned within the ERP (Syteline, SAP or other) manufacturing system.
- Communications Skills: Ability to receive, listen, and understand, in-coming messages (Teams and Telecom), verbal, and written communication from Shipping & Receiving, Inventory Control, and Quality co-workers, outside transportation firms and supplier documentation.
- Reasoning: Ability to apply general rules to determine resolutions of requests and be able to process numbers as needed to put away and pull material per transaction requirements.
- Proven experience of at least 3 years in material planning and ordering in an international industrial environment, out of a minimum total working experience of 5 years.
- Adequate academic education level related to the job scope.
- Base knowledge and understanding of the main material planning and supplier scheduling, customer order intake, production planning, incoming material scheduling, outbound transportation, and the ERP based supporting systems.
- Proven experience in leading a team of people with a given set of objectives.
- Purpose driven individual, target-oriented, and used to working under pressure.

- Flexibility to resolve external and internal conflict situations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
- At least 5 years of Material Planning in a Manufacturing Environment.
