Job Description

Chief of Staff (to the CEO)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Chief of Staff (to the CEO) based in United States.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an exceptional operator and strategist to work directly with a CEO at a pivotal stage of company growth. You will act as a force multiplier across product strategy, business operations, metrics, leadership effectiveness, and strategic initiatives. The role combines analytical depth with hands-on execution, requiring you to move comfortably between long-term strategy and immediate operational challenges. You’ll bring structure to complex problems, establish systems that improve how the organization operates, and use data to guide high-impact decisions. You’ll also explore opportunities to leverage AI to increase organizational speed, efficiency, and effectiveness. This is an ideal role for an ambitious, high-ownership leader who wants broad exposure to how a founder-led technology company operates and hopes to build or lead an organization of their own in the future.

Accountabilities
  • Partner directly with the CEO to translate strategic priorities into clear operating plans, measurable outcomes, and consistent execution across the organization.
  • Own and continuously improve the product operating system, bringing structure and accountability to product execution, roadmaps, specifications, scope, and product-owned metrics.
  • Develop a comprehensive, trusted view of business and product performance by establishing company-wide metrics, dashboards, measurement frameworks, and sources of truth.
  • Work closely with product leadership and data teams to analyze performance, identify the factors driving growth, and recommend high-impact strategies and priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI across business and product operations, implementing practical solutions that improve organizational speed, decision-making, and efficiency.
  • Act as a force multiplier for the CEO by preparing leadership meetings, shaping agendas, guiding discussions, tracking decisions, and driving follow-through on critical priorities.
  • Triage roadmaps, escalations, requests, and strategic issues before they reach the CEO, ensuring the leadership team remains focused on the highest-value work.
  • Independently lead high-priority special projects that require speed, sound judgment, cross-functional coordination, and strong execution.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level documentation, including team meeting materials, roadmap documents, operating plans, and other resources essential to company alignment.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies, broken processes, gaps, and opportunities, determining when a scalable system is needed versus when a focused intervention is sufficient.
  • Work across functions and organizational levels to unblock teams, improve execution, and strengthen overall operating effectiveness.
  • Contribute strategic and operational insights that help shape product direction, organizational priorities, and long-term company performance.
Requirements
  • 7–10+ years of experience in Chief of Staff, Product Operations, Business Operations, consulting, strategy, or another high-accountability operational or strategic role.
  • Proven track record of building dashboards, roadmaps, operating systems, processes, and organizational structures from the ground up.
  • Strong product orientation and practical experience working within a product organization, with a clear understanding of how products are scoped, built, measured, launched, and improved.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, including the ability to work directly with data, evaluate metric definitions, identify inconsistencies, build models, and determine which business levers have the greatest impact.
  • Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and highly tactical levels, moving from company-wide priorities to detailed operational problem-solving without losing perspective.
  • Exceptional execution skills, with a demonstrated ability to take ambiguous problems, determine the appropriate approach, and deliver high-quality outcomes without relying on predefined templates.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, organizational efficiency, product strategy, and cross-functional execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent executive priorities accurately and communicate the right information to the right stakeholders at the right time.
  • Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust, navigate different personalities, influence without ego, and collaborate effectively across the organization.
  • High level of ownership, urgency, resilience, curiosity, and willingness to take on unfamiliar challenges.
  • Ability to provide and receive direct feedback, continuously improve, and maintain high standards for individual and team performance.
  • Consumer or social product experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience working with AI-enabled tools, AI implementation, or technology-driven operational transformation is advantageous.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and genuine interest in learning how high-growth, founder-led companies operate across functions.
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary of $230,000–$270,000.
  • Fully remote position available to candidates based in the United States.
  • Comprehensive health benefits for employees and dependents.
  • Meaningful company equity.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Company-sponsored trips and team experiences.
  • More than $10,000 in additional perks and stipends.
  • Significant access to professional development and direct exposure to executive-level decision-making.
  • Opportunity to work closely with a CEO and leadership team while gaining broad experience across product, strategy, operations, data, and AI.
  • High-ownership environment with the opportunity to lead initiatives that directly influence company performance and direction.
  • Potential career development toward future executive, operational, or founder-level leadership.
