This APP position is designed to enhance patient access and support the growth of our interdisciplinary pain program. The provider will primarily manage urgent access appointments, perform evaluations for interventional pain procedures, and provide longitudinal medication management for patients with chronic pain conditions, including those with complex care needs. Working collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and referring providers, the APP will address urgent clinical concerns, develop treatment recommendations, and help patients navigate their care journey. The role is integral to improving patient access, clinic throughput, and timely treatment while ensuring delivery of high-quality, evidence-based pain care. The APP will also partner with primary care teams to facilitate appropriate care transitions and support continuity of care across settings.
Responsibilities
- The APP promotes professional development and the advancement of nursing practice, facilitates the provision of quality, evidence based care and is a change agent/role model.
- The APP demonstrates a firm clinical knowledge base in specialty practice and systems theory.
- The APP conducts and facilitates patient care consultation and provides resources to assess the impact and appropriateness of practice on patient outcomes.
- The APP uses clinical nursing expertise in diagnosis and treatment to prevent, remediate, or alleviate illness and promote health with a defined specialty population APP practice is the translation of clinical expertise into nursing care provided either directly or by influencing nurses and nursing personnel through evidence-based nursing care standards.
- APP practice also influences systems to mobilize, change, or transform these systems to facilitate expertly designed nursing intervention.
- Some APPs may expand their nursing practice to include prescriptive authority for pharmacologic agents to augment the care that they are responsible and accountable to provide.
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate education with preparation as an APP as required by state licensure.
Experience:
- Clinical experience requirements are dependent upon the specific position, and include a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
