Armorer Technician 1

Department: Build Division: Manufacturing

As an Armory Technician 1 at Daniel Defense, you will leverage your Armorer 3-level firearms assembly expertise while developing foundational skills in assembly line technology, learning to install, maintain, and support the programming of assembly technologies including laser machines, presses, conveyor systems, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Essential Functions:

  • Apply deep knowledge of Daniel Defense firearms assembly processes to support and maintain the technologies that power the assembly line.
  • Perform basic setup and maintenance of assembly technologies, including laser machines, presses, and conveyor systems, under general supervision.
  • Assist with and learn to program Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Laser machines, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) systems under the guidance of senior Armory Technicians.
  • Ensure all tooling is provided, maintained in good working condition, and calibrated as necessary to meet production and quality standards.
  • Support the assembly line by conducting tests and adjustments to maintain a high level of product quality.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving minor equipment breakdowns to support continuous production flow; escalate moderate or complex issues to senior technicians.
  • Adhere to all operational standards and safety protocols; assist with the development and maintenance of accurate documentation for compliance and quality control.
  • Assist in training and supporting team members to enhance their understanding and efficiency in using assembly technologies.
  • Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the company’s efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
  • Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment
  • Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); demonstrated competency at the Armorer 3 level required. 0–2 years of technical training in mechanical, electrical, or automation systems preferred; certification in these fields is a plus. Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to fulfill the requirements of the position.
  • Proven firearms assembly expertise at the Daniel Defense Armorer 3 standard; deep familiarity with build line processes, quality standards, and tooling.
  • Entry-level familiarity with automated assembly line technology; willingness to learn equipment programming and maintenance under supervision.
  • Ability to assist in diagnosing and resolving basic technical issues with assembly equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts as necessary and adapt to changing production needs.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to wear personal protection equipment as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and work in accordance with our Company Values.
  • It is understood employees may be assigned to other departments, functional groups, and/or shifts as deemed necessary by management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the work day.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
