About the Role:
The Production Shift Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and managing manufacturing operations during assigned shifts to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production output. This position is responsible for coordinating team activities, monitoring production processes, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The supervisor will lead, motivate, and develop production staff to meet daily production goals while minimizing downtime and waste. They will also serve as a key liaison between management and production teams, facilitating communication and problem-solving to optimize workflow. Ultimately, the role ensures that production targets are met on time, within budget, and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, technical documents, and safety guidelines.
- Proficient in basic computer applications including Microsoft Office and production management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing management, or related discipline.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Certification in safety management or supervisory training programs.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced production tracking tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet established schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Lead, train, and evaluate production team members, providing guidance and support to enhance performance and development.
- Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize production delays and maintain continuous workflow.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, and management teams to address equipment, process, and quality challenges.
- Maintain accurate production records, prepare shift reports, and communicate key information to management.
- Implement process improvements and best practices to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
