Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 1st - 8th grade Science & Engineering Homeschool Enrichment Teacher to join our dynamic team 2026 - 2027 school year. The 1st - 8th grade Science & Engineering Homeschool Enrichment Teacher inspires curiosity, creativity, and innovation through hands-on, problem-based learning experiences. This educator guides students in exploring scientific concepts and the engineering design process while connecting classroom learning to real-world applications. Students learn to think critically, ask meaningful questions, test ideas, and design solutions, all while developing the skills and confidence to see themselves as scientists and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons in science and engineering aligned with state and STEM School Highlands Ranch standards.
  • Facilitate hands-on investigations and design challenges that integrate scientific inquiry and the engineering design process.
  • Cultivate curiosity by encouraging students to observe, question, predict, test, and revise ideas through experimentation and exploration.
  • Integrate interdisciplinary connections with mathematics, technology, and literacy to deepen understanding and application of STEM concepts.
  • Use the engineering design cycle to help students identify problems, prototype solutions, and reflect on outcomes.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles and abilities while fostering collaboration and creativity.
  • Utilize project-based learning and real-world problem-solving to make science and engineering relevant and meaningful.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that values exploration, teamwork, and perseverance.
  • Assess learning through performance-based tasks, observations, and reflective discussions rather than traditional grades.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align STEM integration and share best practices across grade levels.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science Education, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Valid state teaching license or endorsement in Elementary Education or Science.
  • Strong understanding of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the engineering design process.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
  • Passion for hands-on learning, innovation, and fostering a growth mindset in all students.

Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for 90 minutes.
  • Ability to run short distances.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.
Schedule:
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays; four 8 week sessions from late August until May
  • Includes 5 professional development and room set up days
  • 2- Friday field trips each 8 week session
  • Total working days 82 days (August- May)
  • 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • This is a part time position.

This position will be open until filled, but will not be open past: August 31, 2026.


The pay range for this role is:
268.29 - 554.87 USD per day(Main)
