Description:

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Mechanical Assembler II who is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This position requires a higher level of technical proficiency than an entry-level assembler and the ability to work independently while supporting production goals, continuous improvement initiatives, and a safe work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Interpret and follow engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and assembly procedures.
  • Perform mechanical fitting, fastening, alignment, and adjustment of components to meet product specifications.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards.
  • Conduct functional testing and troubleshoot minor assembly issues, making adjustments as needed.
  • Identify and report quality concerns, material shortages, equipment issues, or process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and safety standards.
  • Assist in training and mentoring Mechanical Assembler I employees as needed.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve assembly-related issues.
  • Meet daily production schedules while maintaining quality and safety expectations.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2= years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly documentation.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills for production reporting and documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Onsite

SCHEDULE

  • M-F; 7:00am - 3:30pm

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
