Overview
Sr Product Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new valve products. To ensure that the products meet customer requirements and adhere to applicable industry standards. The engineer will collaborate with other teams including Quality, Manufacturing, product management and sourcing to ensure that the product meets all designated requirements.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Design and develop new products according to company requirements.
- Create test plans and conduct testing of prototype products.
- Identify potential patents, trademarks opportunities and work with legal team for filings
- Ensure that the products meet all necessary standards and regulations.
- Ensure robust technical documentation and conformity assessment processes, including technical files, calculations, manuals, and declarations of conformity
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of product development.
- Continuously test and evaluate products to ensure quality and functionality
- Work with Product management team to identify potential cost optimization opportunities.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues in the product development process.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and standards to ensure that the products are competitive.
- Work closely with Product Management, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to deliver scalable, manufacturable, and customer-focused solutions

Qualifications
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has to supervise one designer. Provides technical direction to assigned design/drafting personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, Master’s preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents in English. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and calculus. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. A thorough understanding of Boolean logic is required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to understand and apply Boolean logic.
COMPUTING SKILLS
Ability to utilize computer aided design (PTC Creo & Windchill preferred) and engineering & simulations tools. Ability to utilize word processing software, prepare spreadsheets and databases and to navigate and use custom applications in a MS Windows environment.
