The Executive, Critical Risk Assurance will support the identification, assessment, and improvement of critical risk controls across complex operational environments. This role focuses on strengthening safety assurance practices, analyzing operational risks, and ensuring effective control measures are implemented and maintained. The Executive, Critical Risk Assurance will be responsible for supporting risk identification, control verification, incident learning, and assurance activities across operational environments. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, stakeholder collaboration, and a proactive approach to improving safety performance and reducing critical risks.

• Identify operational, project, and maintenance-related hazards and assess potential critical risks and unwanted events.
• Evaluate critical controls, assess their effectiveness, and support assurance activities to ensure controls remain reliable.
• Conduct reviews of risk assessments, hazard identification processes, job safety analyses, and safe work method statements.
• Support incident investigations and analyze high-potential events to identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate field verification activities with operational teams to assess the implementation and effectiveness of critical controls.
• Identify gaps, unsafe practices, and improvement opportunities through site reviews and operational assessments.
• Support the development and monitoring of safety performance indicators, including leading and lagging metrics.
• Assist in analyzing safety data and preparing reports to provide insights into operational risk performance.
• Promote continuous improvement through the adoption of modern safety management and operational risk practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across different functions and locations to strengthen risk management processes.
• Encourage proactive reporting, learning, and intervention when unsafe conditions are identified.

The ideal candidate will have experience in safety management, risk assurance, or operational risk environments, with knowledge of high-risk activities and control management systems. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, Risk Management, or an equivalent discipline.
• Experience working in construction, facilities management, property management, or similar high-risk operational environments.
• Knowledge of hazard identification processes for occupational and operational risks, including electrical hazards, confined spaces, hazardous chemicals, and working at height.
• Experience preparing and reviewing risk assessments, HIRAs, JSAs, and SWMS.
• Understanding of permit-to-work systems and their implementation.
• Knowledge of control failure analysis and critical control verification processes.
• Experience supporting safety assurance programs and operational improvement initiatives.
• Preferred qualification in safety management, risk management, or a related field.
• Experience implementing critical control management systems in complex or multicultural environments is an advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
