Paramedic - ER Department at Citizens Memorial – Bolivar, Missouri

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is hiring a Paramedic to join our team in the Emergency Department. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 long-term care facilities and 1 residential care facility. About the department: The Emergency Department at CMH is a 12-bed unit with three designated trauma beds, designated OB/GYN, cardiac and obstetric rooms, and eight medical beds. We provide emergency services to patients of all ages in 8 counties in Southwest Missouri.

A typical day includes: Knowing and applying current nursing theory, principles of treatment, and nursing procedures to care for Emergency Department patients.

• Assessing the patient; identifying physical, psychological, cultural, spiritual, and social needs
• Communicating significant data regarding the patient to the charge nurse and ED provider
• Documenting in-patient and departmental records in a timely, accurate, and concise manner
• Administering medications as ordered by provider
• Performing clinical skills to include IV start, Nasogastric tube placement, venipuncture, urethral catheterization and EKG
• Performing hourly rounding to include vital signs, call light within reach, basic comfort items, etc.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Completion of an approved EMT-P training course; preferred education and training with 12 lead EKG, basic Arrhythmia, and NRP
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as an EMS or in an emergency department setting
• Skills: Ability to remain calm and exhibit a professional composure during high-stress and crisis situations, medical terminology
• Licensure/Certification: Active Missouri EMT-P license certification
• Physical: Prolonged periods of standing and walking

The position is: PRN; hours may vary
