Job Description

Job Opportunity: Program Director – DBHDS Licensed Developmental Disability Services

We are actively seeking a qualified and dedicated Program Director to oversee our DBHDS-licensed residential group homes supporting four or more individuals with developmental disabilities. This leadership position plays a critical role in program operations, regulatory compliance, and staff supervision.

About the Role

As Program Director, you will manage daily operations, ensure adherence to DBHDS standards, and lead a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). You will work closely with our QDDP and oversee key documentation, including quarterly reviews and Part V submissions via WAMS.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field

- At least 5 years of experience in developmental disability program management

- Strong understanding of DBHDS regulations and HCBS compliance standards

- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree in a relevant field

- Certification such as CRC or LCSW

- Experience with grant writing or program funding initiatives

Key Responsibilities
  • - Ensure compliance with DBHDS regulations, Medicaid standards, and HCBS rules
  • - Conduct risk management and incident investigations
  • - Accurate and timely CHRIS/Delta reporting
  • - Direct supervision and support of DSPs
  • - Develop monthly staffing schedules and facilitate staff meetings
  • - Conduct monthly note audits and staff observations
  • - Train staff on documentation practices and regulatory compliance
  • - Oversee new hire orientation (including HR/HCBS requirements)
  • - Manage the hiring, onboarding, and termination process
  • - Perform 90-day evaluations and annual staff competency assessments
  • - Conduct annual individual satisfaction surveys
  • - Perform regular audits of staff and individual files
  • - Collaborate with families, case managers, and stakeholders
  • - Proficient use of WAMS (wamsvirginia.gov), including ISP updates, Part V documentation, and Customized Rate management
