Event Security Officer – Festivals & Special Events at Inner Valor Inc – Chicago, Illinois

We are seeking highly alert and professional Event Security Officers to oversee access control, security screening, crowd control, and active shooter awareness at major outdoor and indoor events across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct access control, verifying IDs and enforcing entry policies.

• Perform security screenings, including bag checks and metal detection.

• Monitor large crowds, proactively identifying potential security threats.

• Enforce event policies and assist in crowd flow management and emergency exits.

• Respond immediately to disturbances, emergencies, and security concerns.

• Stay trained in active shooter awareness and crisis response protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18+ years old with a high school diploma or GED.

• Strong communication and de-escalation skills.

• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-energy environments.

• Reliable transportation to event venues across Chicago.

• Must pass a background check and security screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PERC card & 20-hour Basic Security Training certification.

• Prior experience in event security, crowd control, or law enforcement.

• CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).

Physical & Mental Requirements:

With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include:

• Frequent standing, walking, and patrolling for long periods, sometimes exceeding 8–12 hours.

• Ability to be outside for extended periods of time, including exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).

• Occasionally reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed.

• Clear vision and hearing to monitor large crowds and respond to security incidents.

• Ability to navigate crowded areas, stairs, and narrow walkways.

• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 10 pounds frequently, with occasional movement of up to 25 pounds.

• Ability to stay alert and maintain situational awareness in noisy and dynamic environments.

• Capability to respond quickly to emergencies, including running short distances when necessary.
