About This Position
Description:
Position Summary:
The Shipping, Receiving & Delivery Associate plays a key role in supporting plant operations through accurate shipping, receiving, and transportation of materials, components, and finished goods. This position ensures materials flow efficiently between suppliers, production areas, and customers, while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse and driving company vehicles for local deliveries and pickups.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping & Receiving:
- Receive incoming raw materials, parts, and supplies; verify quantities and quality against purchase orders.
- Accurately prepare outgoing shipments of finished products, ensuring correct labeling, documentation, and carrier coordination.
- Work closely with production and purchasing teams to prioritize shipments and maintain material flow.
- Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or cranes as required.
- Inspect materials for damage or defects and report discrepancies promptly.
Warehouse & Material Handling:
- Organize and stage raw materials and components for production use.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP or inventory management system.
- Perform cycle counts, stock rotation, and help manage inventory levels.
- Keep warehouse areas clean, safe, and compliant with OSHA and company safety standards.
Driving & Delivery:
- Operate company vehicles to deliver finished goods to customers or transport raw materials between manufacturing and warehouse locations.
- Pick up supplies and equipment from local vendors as needed.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Ensure on-time deliveries and provide excellent customer service at all delivery sites.
Work Environment:
- Primarily based in a manufacturing plant and warehouse environment.
- Regular exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and temperature variations.
- Combination of warehouse and driving duties; may include overtime or weekend work based on production schedules.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or delivery roles within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL (Class B or higher) a plus.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate material handling equipment safely.
- Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems (e.g., Job Boss) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
