The Tasting Room Host plays a vital role in delivering exceptional experiences for guests by providing personalized wine education, showcasing our vineyards and winemaking processes, and driving sales. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Excellence

  • Lead engaging wine tastings that highlight the story behind each bottle, including vineyard practices and winemaking techniques.
  • Guide guests in selecting wines and making purchases, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
  • Consistently seek opportunities to close sales, recognizing that sales are integral to exceptional service.
  • Take ownership of achieving key goals, including wine sales, wine club memberships, and guest data collection.
  • Actively promote wine club memberships, special events, and unique guest experiences.

Customer Service Expertise

  • Anticipate guest needs and deliver an elevated hospitality experience that feels tailored to each visitor.
  • Build authentic connections with guests to foster loyalty and enhance their overall experience.
  • Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and enthusiasm in every interaction.
  • Collaborate with the hospitality team to ensure a seamless, high-quality guest experience from arrival to departure.
  • Stay informed about wine offerings, promotions, and upcoming events to provide accurate and engaging information.
  • Strive for service & time management consistency as a part of our BCo mantra of exceptional hospitality

Wine Knowledge & Education

  • Cultivate a passion for wine education, continuously building knowledge about our wines, vineyards, and winemaking philosophy.
  • Actively participate in internal wine education sessions and seek opportunities for ongoing learning.
  • Exhibit confidence and expertise when discussing wine, creating a meaningful and informative experience for guests.

Professionalism

  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance, understanding that presentation is key to exceptional service.
  • Exhibit professionalism in behavior, avoiding distractions such as personal phone use or back-of-house activities in guest-facing areas.
  • Communicate with guests and peers using a friendly, respectful tone at all times.

Operational Proficiency

  • Show competence and comfort with point-of-sale (POS) systems, including ringing up sales, processing shipments, and managing customer accounts.
  • Solve problems efficiently and exhibit coachability to adapt and improve as needed.
  • Take initiative to manage opening and closing tasks, including setting up, restocking wine, clearing tables, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and teamwork in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with colleagues to meet the needs of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Strong passion for wine and a desire to learn more about winemaking and hospitality.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn POS systems and operational tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  • Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Stand and remain on their feet for a full shift (6-8 hours).
  • Exhibit a full range of motion, including bending, lifting, and twisting.


Must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Open evening availability preferred.
