Position Information
Under the direction of the Facilities Services Custodial Supervisor, the Sr. Custodian performs a variety of custodial/housekeeping tasks to care, maintain, disinfect, sanitize, and preserve campus facilities. The Sr. Custodian is responsible for the upkeep of their assigned building(s) to ensure a safe and clean environment for staff and students to enjoy. The Sr. Custodian may work independently or as a part of a team in assigned work areas in a fast paced environment with project deadlines and close turnarounds while maintaining a positive attitude. The Sr. Custodian uses their own initiative and proactively addresses daily tasks to maintain a clean environment. Sr. Custodians communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty and students to ensure a good relationship with campus customers.Please Note: This job posting is for multiple openings on various shifts including day, swing, and graveyard shifts. The full salary range for the Sr. Custodian position is $21.05 - $28.89 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.***Please note the realized minimum pay for this position will be $25 an hour.***

Ability to safely remove and replace heavy linen carts, refuse/recycling dumpsters from a loading dock routinely using a manual or mechanical cart/equipment. |
| Ability to work indoors or outdoors with variable temperatures and conditions including: dust, smog, rain or temperatures ranging from high heat with humidity to cold conditions. |
| Knowledge of UCR/UC policies, procedures and systems. |
| Knowledge and skill to use MS Office programs and email. |
| Basic knowledge in safe and proper procedures when hazardous materials are suspected; knowledge of safe and proper methods to clean up and dispose of biohazards and chemicals such as: rodent droppings, vomit, blood, raw sewage or chemicals. |
| Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations governing areas related to the responsibilities of the job, including SB-198 Illness and Injury Prevention Program (IIPP). |
