Overview

We are looking for a research technician willing to work with mice and assist with mice maintenance. Also assist in lab organization and to learn techniques to evaluate lung biology and assist in experiments and support additional investigators in the laboratory.

Responsibilities

The person will:

• Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures including:

1. Mouse tail clipping (low complexity and weekly)
2. Genotyping with mouse tails (Low complexity weekly)
3. Preparation of laboratory solutions (low complexity weekly/monthly)
4. Mouse necropsy with supervision and assistance (medium complexity monthly or less with supervision)

• Require occasional guidance;
• Occasionally be responsible for ordering routine supplies;
• Rarely modify technical procedures;
• Rarely train other lab members;
• Rarely guide other lab members;
• A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required;
• Occasionally analyze data;
• Rarely interpret data;
• Rarely make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.*

Qualifications

• Required to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience, and zero to two years of related experience.
