BARTENDER

The bartender is responsible for providing friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all guests. Bartenders are responsible for preparing all alcoholic beverages for both the bar guests and service bar.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The bartender reports directly to the assistant manager or GM.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Arrives to work on time, ready to work, neat, and well-groomed
• Learns the names and personally recognizes regular guests
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Steps of Service
• Responsible for the preparation of all drinks to Hurricane Grill and Wings standards
• Takes food and beverage orders from guests and enters orders in point-of-sale system
• Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
• Maintains cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas
• Maintains clean service areas
• Washes and sterilizes glassware
• Performs sidework at the beginning and end of each shift as required
• Assists the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies. Is ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise
• Maintains outstanding knowledge of the core menu, drink menu and LTO menu and is able to answer guests' questions on the items
• Monitors and observes guests' dining experience
• Ensures guests are satisfied with the food and service
• Responds promptly and courteously to any requests
• Takes payment from guests using any applicable gift cards, rewards card, discount or coupon
• Responsible for the bartender cash drawer and all monies contained

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

• Age requirement will be determined by local government
• Some areas will require an ABC Certification
• Is able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant's trading area
• Has experience with preparing drinks in a high volume, cost controlled environment
